Paul Catholic School encourages each student to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our advanced academic program aligns itself with Illinois State Standards and includes the following: Art, Language Arts, Math, Pre-Algebra and Algebra, Physical Education, Phonics-based Reading, Religion and Service, Science, Social Studies, Technology, Vocal and Instrumental Music. New computers were purchased for the lab and classrooms, and “United Streaming” was made available in all classrooms. It allows each teacher to pull up information onto the classroom smart board from the computer that relates to the subject they are teaching. For example, if a lecture in science is teaching about the life cycle of a frog, the students can watch a 2-3 minute video reinforcing the subject! St. Paul School has a Learning Center Specialist on staff for student support. Our Learning Center is available to students at regularly scheduled times or on an “as-needed” basis. The teacher keeps in close contact with classroom teachers as well as parents, concerning the needs and progress of the students.
In addition to offering a fine curriculum, the students’ daily activities are centered around the Catholic Faith. The students worship together on Fridays by attending an All-School Mass. Students plan and take part in the Liturgy.
